As a part of my job I get to go to all of the recreation events to take pictures. This is usually a simple task. Go to the event, take the photos, then post them. Not that hard right? Well, much to my surprise, I could not have put myself in a scarier situation other than that of which I experienced Saturday November 14th.
As I walked into the HUB courtroom, I realized just how much I don’t miss playing Dodgeball. Thankfully I only had to take pictures. Making sure I stayed close to the sidelines as not to get hit walking behind the games, I went snap-happy as I usually do. In between games I would dart to the center so I could capture both games. It became very apparent very quickly that getting hit was inevitable.
Throughout this thrilling experience, I ended up getting hit about three good times. I was able to dodge several others. Let’s just say I definitely didn’t see them coming. Especially as just the photographer you wouldn’t expect having to dodge anything. Overall, the games were great! Very intense, but I can’t wait to go next year!

Last Friday, October 23rd ended the Softball intramural season and gave us three fantastic winners. First off was team Ramrod winning the co-ed championships with a fabulous 17-2 against Arm & Hammer Propaganda. Both teams played very well and it was a marvelous ending to the fall season.
Next team playing the 5-6pm game was the intermediate softball teams. PS HOOT beat Hoffman’s Heroes 17-16. It was a close and exciting match, but each team played hard and had lots of fun!
Last was the advanced teams playing the last championship game of the night! McLovin’ beat High Gravity 17-16. Close once again, but both teams played like pro’s.
All of these games were not only fun and exciting for the teams playing, but also for their devoted fans cheering them on. To everyone who played the championships well done! To the rest of the teams we hope to see you next year! This year’s Foley Foot Race was AMAZING! It was a bit chilly and my fingers and toes definitely froze, but it was such a great time! Everything went perfectly and no one got lost! Overall, it was a great time and I hope all the runners and staff had a great time as well. See you all next year!

Not sure what to do for the rest of fall and upcoming long winter? Keep your eyes open for the banners above the fireplace , along with flyers posted all around campus. PSU recreation staff often posts new ways to keep active, so don’t be bored when the cold comes, come play! With the new workout equipment, bike races,intramural sports, group X,and other sports related activities, there’s no need to sit around. Come join the fun and keep fit. If you have any suggestions of things you and your friend might enjoy you can always let us know, or if you have any questions about upcoming events and times feel free to ask PSU REC staff.
