Softball Championships!

Last Friday, October 23rd ended the Softball intramural season and gave us three fantastic winners. First off was team Ramrod winning the co-ed championships with a fabulous 17-2 against Arm & Hammer Propaganda. Both teams played very well and it was a marvelous ending to the fall season.

Next team playing the 5-6pm game was the intermediate softball teams. PS HOOT beat Hoffman’s Heroes 17-16. It was a close and exciting match, but each team played hard and had lots of fun!

Last was the advanced teams playing the last championship game of the night! McLovin’ beat High Gravity 17-16. Close once again, but both teams played like pro’s.

All of these games were not only fun and exciting for the teams playing, but also for their devoted fans cheering them on. To everyone who played the championships well done! To the rest of the teams we hope to see you next year! Don’t forget to look out for pictures of some softball games, championship games, as well as a video on the co-ed softball championship game coming soon to PSU RECREATION on facebook, youtube, and many other websites.

Foley Foot Race

This year’s Foley Foot Race was AMAZING! It was a bit chilly and my fingers and toes definitely froze, but it was such a great time! Everything went perfectly and no one got lost! Overall, it was a great time and I hope all the runners and staff had a great time as well. See you all next year!

Intramural Softball!

IT’S A HIT!

This year intramural soft ball was at a record high for participants! Over 430 people came out to play, giving us 36 enthusiastic teams. Starting at 5 o clock Monday through Thursday a different team plays a game every hour up until 10 o clock. Intramural Soft Ball provides not only a fun experience for friends to get together, but also an opportunity to meet people, keep busy, and play a game without pressure and just have a ball, literally!

One player Eve Schene shows her excitement to play after not having played for two years and how great it is to just get out there and play again. She goes on about how although everyone gets strongly into the game, it is exciting to have the competitiveness along with the strong teamwork. So to everyone who came out to play we thank you for bringing the heat to Plymouth, and to all those who couldn’t make it we hope to see you on the field next year!

Sailing Trip 2009!

This years sailing trip went by absolutely swimmingly! (haha). We really lucked out and it turned out to be a beautiful day. There was a total of six people. With everyone starting out with no experience in sailing, I am pleased to report that due to Jose’s thorough instruction, we are all very confident and excited to get back out on the water. We all learned the basic vocabulary, like what a jib is, or a cleat, telling the difference between a line and a sheet (there is none). Practicing tacks and jives proved to be interesting and enjoyable. Overall, it was a great learning experience and a fun time. Hopefully next year we can make a two day event if enough people sign up. It was truly a great time and I hope that everyone comes out next year for it!
