Today, an individual, who did not introduce himself, but I will assume he is a faculty or staff member here at PSU, complained that he was shocked after plugging in a piece of cardio equipment in the Cardio Theater. He assures me that the Cardio Theater was a mess with equipment plugged in and unplugged everywhere. So, per his request, I sent one of our staff members to escort him and plug in the piece of equipment that he needed so he can get his workout in. In addition, I went upstairs to see the mess that he was talking about (see pictures).

Although, some machines that were out of order, were not plugged in I could not find the mess he was talking about nor any potential hazard to patrons. I have requested signs for the Cardio Theater with the following information” For your Safety, please do not unplug or plug in any machines” I can control what my group of staff does in the facility, but I cannot control what patrons are doing. I am looking for solutions to avoid people getting shocked when unplugging and plugging in equipment. Now, I open this to you, what else can we do, so patrons do not get shocked in the fitness room or Cardio Theater?
